Ford’s Commitment to the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC)
Ford have been committed members of the SBAC for many years. We've had representation at various times on the AMC, the Market Development Board, SC21, and Council but perhaps the greatest commitment has been to the Regional Strategy Committee, which chairman Geoff Ford, has chaired since the committee was formed in September 2005. The committee merged with the Aerospace Forum in December of that year.
The committee, which was the brainchild of Sally Howes, the SBAC's Director General until recently, is very well supported by Bob Young, the SBAC's Director of Regional Strategy. Most areas of the UK are represented on the committee as indeed are a number of prime contractors such as Rolls Royce and Airbus. Meetings are held at venues through out the UK with a different topic set for each meeting. Different regions have different specialisms and areas of focus which makes for lively and interesting discussions!
While Geoff's two year stint as Chairman of the committee ends in September, the regional partners have asked him to carry on for a further two year period, which he has readily agreed to do.
