Charity Committee News
Ford have had a Charity Committee for Several years now although they have been supporting a local charity, the Jack Heath Club for over 25 years. The Committee raises money in a wide variety of different ways and supports a wide range of charities; recently, however, came a cry for help close to home. Andy Tollett, A CNC Punch Press Programmer Operator with Ford, had a son, Andi, Who suffered from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. Sadly this year, young Andi lost his battle, but not before he and his family had benefited greatly from a relationship they all developed with Butterwick Hospice.
The Charities Committee raised in excess of £3000 at a 60s & 70s night which was donated to Butterwick and Muscular Dystrophy Charity.
Not content with this effort, the Committee has encouraged 30 employees to enter the Great North Run in September this year to raise more funds. Training for the event has already begun, with the support and guidance of a local fitness expert.
