Accolade For Chairman
Everyone at Ford was delighted to learn that our Chairman, Geoff Ford (Pictured) has been awarded with the Queen's award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP).
The award, which is made annually, goes to only ten individuals in the UK in recognition of their efforts to encourage enterprise and the spirit of enterprise in others. Most of his work is in South Tyneside, where Ford has always been based during its 97 year history, and which has some of the most deprived wards in the UK.
He was instrumental in in having South Tyneside win the North East Capital of Enterprise title in 2005 and chaired the South Tyneside Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) Steering group, which won an allocation of £16.2 million over three years, the third highest allocation in the UK. His ongoing roles as chairman of STEP (South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership) and the newly formed South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum keep Ford Components in touch with what is happening in our borough.
