What is Low Cost Tooling (LCT)?
LCT is a unique process developed by Ford to produce thin gauge metal shims by utilizing tooling which costs literally a fraction of conventional press tooling. LCT is ideal for complex, irregular shaped components in small and medium batch sizes. As such it is often used for rapid proto typing of metal shims, since design changes only result in a minimal tool cost.
